# PaisaSync

> PaisaSync is a private, local-first Android expense tracker for India. It turns supported bank and UPI SMS alerts into an organised spending history without asking for bank-login credentials. Transaction parsing and the primary ledger stay on the user's device; optional encrypted backups can go directly to the user's Google Drive.

PaisaSync also publishes Finance Calculator India, a free collection of browser-based financial planning calculators for Indian users. Calculator outputs are informational estimates, not financial, investment, tax, legal, or credit advice.

## Technical and product context

- PaisaSync is Android-only for automatic SMS tracking. iOS does not permit apps to read SMS, so equivalent automatic capture is not available there.
- PaisaSync does not request net-banking usernames, passwords, OTPs, or bank-login credentials.
- Transaction records, balances, and budgets are designed to remain on the device rather than being stored on PaisaSync servers.
- Some app services use the internet, including Google sign-in, ads in the free version, app updates, and optional user-controlled encrypted backups.
- The app can still accept manual entries when an SMS is unavailable or unsupported.
